Friends of Hopelands
Friends of Hopelands is significantly involved in funding additional resources for the school. Our events and activities not only provide fundraising opportunities, but also enrich the general education and lives of the children outside the school curriculum.
We run various fun events for the children throughout the year, which include Spooktacular (an outdoor Halloween party), designing Christmas cards, a trip to the pantomime, a visit from Father Christmas, a pizza, popcorn and pyjama party, and an end of year disco and barbecue.
We are currently in the process of buying a new sound system for the hall, which will also be used for concerts off-site. In recent years we have bought a wide range of items for the school, including a digital piano for concerts and music lessons, an oven and a blender for the practical room, a projector and screen for the Sophie Hall for use in assemblies and various lessons, a visualiser for the yr1 classroom, several digital cameras so that each class has its own, a sandpit and toys for Fox Cubs, lots of books for the library, a set of lacrosse sticks for PE lessons, a large guillotine for the art room, folders for the school choir and plants for the school garden. Our big purchase in September 2015 was eight LearnPads for IT lessons, and in July 2016 we contributed £2,500 towards the new lawn at the rear of the school.
We also run a very successful second-hand uniform service all year round. If you would like to buy or donate any uniform items, please let me know. There is usually a waiting list in operation for popular items like kilts, tracksuits, coats and blazers, so do let me know if you'd like your name to be added to this.
We’d love to hear from you with any ideas for fundraising activities or with feedback after any of our events. Please email me directly using the address below.
