Hopelands Prep School & Nursery Fees

School Fees per term effective September 2025.

School fees and fees for additional services such as clubs, outings, extras etc. are determined by the Governors under the advisement of the Company Secretary. We aim to generate a surplus of income over expenditure to make possible the necessary investment in the provision of facilities, staff, resources and property. One full term’s notice will be given by the Governors regarding any increase in school fees. Fees are payable in three equal amounts termly in advance by the end of the first week of term. Payment by monthly installment may be arranged in advance.

Fees from January 2025 are inclusive of VAT, we have been and continue to work hard to mitigate the impact of this on our parents and have not passed on the full 20%.

The Registration Fee is £120 and is non-refundable. A confirmation deposit of £500 is payable upon confirmation of a place. This deposit will be repaid within 12 weeks of your child leaving Year 6 at Hopelands, less any sums owing to the school at that time.

Hopelands Friends and Families Incentive Scheme

A one off £500 fees credit for any current Hopelands Family who actively refer the school to families and friends. Following a successful referral, i.e. when the referred family’s first term’s school fees have been received, the referring family will receive a £500 one off fees credit on their account.

The referred family must confirm the referral in writing to the School Business Manager at the time of registration.

Loyalty Fee

The loyalty fee applies to families whose children join before Year 3.

Nursery Fees – From September 2025

Hopelands Nursery is term time only, which is 35 weeks across the year. In line with the Hopelands school year, there are 3 terms per year, and termly fees are paid in advance.

As outlined in our Admissions Policy children are required to attend a minimum of 3 school days per week to join the nursery.

Early Years Funding

We are pleased to confirm that Hopelands Prep School & Nursery is registered for the fifteen hours Early Years funding from Gloucestershire County Council (GCC), which allows parents of children aged 3-5 to receive fifteen hours of childcare free. The funding is available up to, and including, the term of their 5^th birthday. The funding is applied at the beginning of each term, and the fees invoice will reflect this.

Hopelands’ School fees are inclusive of:

• All class lessons during the school day 8.30am to 3.45pm
• Books and art and craft materials
• Swimming, games and PE
• Exam preparation for Grammar Schools through timetabled Verbal Reasoning lessons (Common Entrance and Scholarship preparation is available on request)

School fees are not inclusive of the following optional extras, which are billed at the end of each term and from September 2025 will be charged as follows:

• School lunchtime meals (charged at £4.00 per meal)
• Music tuition (piano, drums, violin and singing)
• LAMDA tuition
• School care and activities (see below)
• Educational visits (Costs are kept as low as possible and most trips are <£20 per child)
• Personal Accident Insurance (non-optional charged at £6.25 per term)
