Further Mathematics

Small groups of able children are given the opportunity to experience more investigative mathematics alongside the curriculum as taught within the school.

It enables children to develop an enquiring mind, to think through mathematical problems laterally and to sustain an excitement for the subject. The opportunity is offered to children in Years 4, 5 and 6, ideally in groups of  six to eight.

The children are introduced to new concepts, but at the same time an emphasis is placed on reiterating the basics of mathematics.

Much ground is covered which will be greatly beneficial to the children as they progress through Hopelands Preparatory School and will be carried on to their secondary school life.
