Drama
‘The stage is a reflection of the real life of the human soul……. a slice of life’ Stanislavski
Drama plays a vital creative role in giving permission for students to play, to extend their creative thinking processes to portray other characters and act out other stories than their own. Students work in pairs, groups and individually in order to promote a cohesive and interesting outcome. Hopelands enter the Cheltenham Drama Competition on a regular basis, and all students take part in end of term performances and a school play on a two year rota. Gel, the musical was a successful production in 2005, and in 2007 Hopelands are proud to perform Anne Fine’s: Bills New Frock.
Drama clubs are held each week for years three to six and various Theatre trips are organised throughout the year.
