Hopelands Preparatory School welcomes children from the age of three to eleven years. With a small, happy and friendly atmosphere, the school aims to inspire its pupils both morally and academically.  This can be seen through our excellent academic record, with most of our pupils gaining entry to grammar school or obtaining scholarships to independent school.

With fees less than 50% of the national average, we offer an affordable option in independent education. Small class sizes and dedicated, specialist teachers ensure that the needs of all pupils are met, from high achievers to those experiencing difficulties.

Each child is nurtured to build confidence and a love of learning, helping them reach their full potential and prepare them for the future. The curriculum is exciting and varied, with traditional teaching of core subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science successfully combined with a modern approach to others. Art, Music, Drama and Dance are also well represented.

The school's aim is to achieve the academic potential of each student and to further their social development, making them happy and confident individuals who are well prepared for the future.

2007's academic achievements were outstanding, with 100% of Year 6 pupils either obtaining places at grammar school or receiving a scholarship to an independent school. We believe this says a great deal about the quality of our teachers as the school is non-selective.

Although the school is non-selective, an entrance assessment may be required by the Head to determine a child’s educational needs.
